Value eats at Peterborough: OMG (Oasis Mediterranean Grill)

If you are going to do free stuff in Peterborough, it only makes sense to go for cheap eats. Near the City Hall, we checked out Oasis Mediterranean Grill or OMG. OMG serves traditional Middle Eastern meals -- falafel, kebabs, shawarma, among others. We had the family dinner combo which included a platter of Chicken shawarma, beef and chicken kebab, falafel, sides, house salad, rice,  warm pita and pop.

For our sides, we ordered the Baba Ghanoush and Hummus along with fries (though next time, I will make sure to try the stuffed grape leaves). The house salad was delicious and so were the kebabs and falafels. The winner, though, was the chicken shawarma! It was the tastiest we have had in Canada--with hot sauce and garlic sauce drizzled on top. We decided we were all going to order this next time we are back!

Service was friendly though not the fastest. They had to cook the kebabs per order. It was all worth it, however--great value and wonderfully hearty food.
