The Hippest grilled cheese in Bobcaygeon--Grilled Cheese Hideaway

Orange is the New Black @Grilled Cheese Hideaway, Bobcaygeon
Bobcaygeon is one of our favourite places in the Kawarthas. The vibe is always fun and we enjoy browsing in the Bigley’s stores. On our last trip there, we decided to have lunch at the Grilled Cheese Hideaway. Who would’ve thought that there can be so many variations to the grilled cheese sandwich!

I got the Orange is the New Black. With tomato, avocado and cilantro, it was a grilled cheese guacamole! And just when you think you got the flavours mastered, slices of jalapeno pops in your mouth. Delish!

DD#1 got Za which she really enjoyed. It was a grilled cheese pizza with pizza sauce and pesto.
DD#2 got the Queen “B” which had fresh sliced apples and bacon.

Hubby got the Reuben Tuesday with Montreal Smoked Meat which he really enjoyed.

Grandma got The Great Northern with peameal bacon and apple chutney. It was a perfect blend of sweet and savoury.

They were all so delicious and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We thought that we would not be particularly full with just a grilled cheese sandwich, but we were wrong! We were actually quite satisfied until dinner time! Highly recommend this place and would be back when we are in the area!

We love Churros!—dessert at El Habanero and Churro Bar

El Habanero and Churrobar
We accidentally chanced upon El Habanero and Churro Bar when we were near the Steeles and Midland area. I love churros and grew up enjoying Churros con Chocolate. So I will surely grab any chance I get for these treats. I will most likely have not given a second look had the joint been called just El Habanero. But seeing the words “Churro bar” made my eyes light up!

We were actually quite full then but I had to check it out. The picture of the churro on ice cream just made me want to go in. And am so glad we did! We discovered a nice place to have some Cuban food, which we actually liked when we went to Cuba, and churros!

We wanted to try everything but as we were full, we settled on classic churros

and churro S’mores sundae. Super yummy and can’t wait to try out their other delightful offerings.

Of course, we couldn't leave without having some Cuban coffee. Ahhhh...there's always room for coffee and dessert. We will definitely be back!
